Therapy for Singles

Are you the “single friend”? Do you often feel left out of couples gatherings, or as if being single means that something must be wrong with you? Perhaps as if you won’t ever feel understood by those who say they love you. They tell you that you’re a catch and anyone would be lucky to have you but after not feeling heard or validated, you’ve closed yourself off to advice from partnered friends and family. You know your identity is not encompassed entirely in being single, but sometimes you’re fed a message that your worth is based on your relationship status.

Being single in your 30s and 40s can be a challenging experience that might be hard for those close to you to understand. Whether you feel like you are behind in life, like no one really takes you seriously because you are single, or even if you are enjoying life on your own and the freedom that comes with it, being single can be isolating.

I help my un-partnered clients in processing through the ways that being single can bring anxiety, joy, liberation and anticipation into their lives. I can help you to be intentional and healthy about dating. Or I can provide support as you work through a recent breakup. Perhaps you are worried about the path to have kids, and you need someone who understands and won’t judge your decisions. You might just need a place to talk about your own experience, and to feel validated by someone who genuinely cares about your well-being.
